Roosevelt Apartments
This project involved the transformation of the 90-year old Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School into Roosevelt Apartments, an affordable housing facility. At least half of the units are used for “permanent supportive housing” for homeless or special needs adults.
This residential complex in Muskegon Heights included extensive remodeling of the existing 36,200 sq ft structure turning old classroom spaces into 18 new one- and two-bedroom apartments. The existing building was completely renovated with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and finish work.
A 36,800 sq ft addition was also constructed with 34 new apartment spaces. In total, the 13-month project included 52 apartments, a property management office, community room with kitchenette, entrance, and parking lot.
